Brian Jun 8, at UTC. Download the 32bit drivers you require for your printer and extract them. Hope this helps. Wayne Jun 8, at UTC. I went thur this same problem with HP printers. I had to use the HP 32 and 64 bit Universal Drivers for the printer. I think this could work for you. You'll need the Windows Server disk. We ran into this issue on a couple deployments. I'm stumped. I followed all the steps in the Xerox article but nothing helped! For those who are very tl;dr, the gist of the guide is: -Mount x86 server installation -Copy ntprint. I'm considering giving up and setting up a linux server for printing. Best Answer. Great news!!!! Glad I could help. By the way, After removing the print services role and adding it again not as part of this issue, but for other reasons I was able to add the x86 print drivers without all the hassle that the first time around gave me.

Now if only the printers would deploy correctly. Damn you group policy. Jacob Jul 6, at UTC. Brian, Thanks for your post here.

ImbaAdmin wrote: Also make sure x64 and x32 driver have exact the same version number. You might not be able to extract some printer drivers without installing them. If this is the case, log on to a client computer that uses the same processor architecture as the printer drivers that you want to add to the print server, and install those printer drivers.

Then use Print Management from the client computer to connect to the print server, and add the additional drivers from the Additional Drivers dialog box. Windows automatically uploads the drivers from the client computer to the print server.

To update or change the printer drivers for a printer, use the following procedure.
